BOARD MEETING NOTES April 2014

  • Finance:
The March report shows that receipts and expenses were less than budgeted but both are regarded as timing issues. Receipts were late in being received while some expenses were low because they have not yet been incurred. However, there is every expectation that these will be in line by the end of the fiscal year.
A proposed new budget was created by the Finance Committee and distributed for discussion at the May meeting. The budget includes some capital projects.
  • Clubhouse Improvements:
The OUTDOOR Pool has been drained and is in the process of repair and painting. Work continues on the repair of the Clubhouse steel beams, on the HVAC systems in the Clubhouse, and on the brick work of the building. A safety fence that meets health code standards has been purchased for the indoor pool during summer and the outdoor pool when there are events like the Trout Derby. Work continues on the set-up for the projector for private parties and events at the clubhouse.
  • ACCES:
The Committee reported on the applications received and approved as well as work in progress.
  • Garden Committee:
Nearly all of the 60 Garden Plots have been taken by residents. An ALL GARDENER meeting was held on April 14 and the next one is scheduled for June 16 in the Community Room.
  • Recreation:
The first “Spring Break- March Madness” events were well attended and fun. Upcoming events include the Trout Derby and Cinco de Mayo party on May 3.
  • Landscape:
The committee continued monitoring of the common areas, fallen trees, and contracts with landscapers. Its next meeting is on May 1, at 7:00 PM in the Community Room.
  • Nominating Committee:
The Nominating Committee presented a slate of nominees for the seats held by trustees whose terms are expiring in June 2014. Some condo representative seats are still open.
  • Website:
Website Committee reported progress on its migration to the new Word Press site which is expected to be live on or about June 1.

There is growing concern about the littering by dog owners of dog waste in Greenwood. Owners are reminded that their dog is to be on a leash and dog waste should be picked up and taken home by owners – not disposed of in the common areas or anyplace else in Greenwood. The disposal of dog feces is a potential health hazard as well as a hazard to repair service workers who maintain external devices around Greenwood. Collect your dog’s waste, place it in a plastic bag and take it home to dispose in your own garbage container.
