Board Meeting Notes August 2012

  • The Board of Directors met on Tuesday, August 21 at 7;00 PM in the Garden Room.
  • The Finance committee report revealed that the budget vs. revenue and expenses are on target.
  • Only 2% of our accounts are in collections. Under new rules passed by GVCA and in effect as of August 17, 2012, GVCA can now suspend the privileges to use the GVCA pools and other recreational facilities of those owners and their residents who are more than 60 days in arrears with their condominium association fees, just as if they were in arrears to GVCA. After July 30,2012 a penalty of $40.00 was added to all unpaid accounts, and an additional late fee of $20.00 is added at the end of each month thereafter.
  • Work continues on the rehabilitation of the Clubhouse in the Community Room, the Pool Room and the Pump Room. The women’s locker room has been updated with new panels. Work on the building will continue in the fall.
  • Bill Karg was elected by the Board to fill the term vacated by Tymber Skan Condominium Association, member Carol Oudeman.
  • Recreational Committee reported that the moonlight Swim on August was a great success with over 100 people in attendance to swim, share pizza and watch the Perseid Meteor shower.
  • The next event is the GVCA Clambake on Friday, September 28, 2012. Watch this space for more news about it.
  • The Landscape committee is hosting a presentation by Denise Ellsworth, from Ohio State Extensions Service on “THE POWER OF POLLINATORS & PLANTS FOR BEES.” MONDAY, OCTOBER 22 @ 7;30pm, GVCA Clubhouse Garden Room. Learn all about the major pollinators in Ohio, why they are so important, and how they’re being threatened. Also, learn about the favorite plants of bees and some simple changes you can make in the garden to help native pollinators and honey bees.
