Board Meeting Notes December 2012

  • The Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at 7:00 PM in the Garden Room.
  • Financial Report: GVCA expenditures year to date are generally within budget. Two exceptions were the expenses incurred for the removal of fallen trees caused by the storm related to Hurricane Sandy, and repair work on the clubhouse which is ahead of schedule. Both expenditures are well within the 2012-13 budget under emergencies and capital repairs. Also damaged in the storm was the 12 foot fence surrounding the Tennis Courts. The Board voted to have the Tennis Court fence repaired but to fix the wind/privacy screen in-house.
  • Clubhouse Repair Work: Repair work continues on the clubhouse with the focus on the Community Room. Weather stripping was installed on windows, brickwork enclosing beams and the walls were sealed. Scheduled work on the clubhouse should be completed by the end of the fiscal year.
  • Underground Power Cable Lines: The installation of new underground power cable lines on Greenwood Parkway by the Electric Company is completed and should result in less power outages. The areas have been seeded and covered with straw.
  • Security Report: Two police officers from the Sagamore Hills Township Police Dept attended the meeting to inform the Board about a four burglaries in Greenwood that appears to be the work of a single individual. They made several suggestions about safety and protecting the home. Subsequently, a GV Security Alert was created and put in the newsletter and on the website..
  • ACCES Report: The ACCES Committee reported on their work on numerous applications, follow-up on work in progress and on past properties and three properties they are monitoring for violations. Corrective action will be taken in accord with the GVCA Enforcement Assessment Procedure to get property owners to comply with ACCES regulations.
  • Recreation Committee Report: The Recreation Committee announced the dates for a series of Wine Tastings .
