Board Meeting Notes February 2012

The GVCA Board met on Tuesday Feb 20, 2012 and heard reports from committees. Of note is the continuing repairs to the structure of the Clubhouse and the renovation of one of the lower level restrooms to become handicap accessible. The manager continues to monitor the lake structure for leaks and make corrections as needed and is preparing for the outdoor pool season by having equipment repaired now.

  • The GVCA Pool committee presented a draft set of rules for the indoor and outdoor pools. Based on a number of suggestions, the Pool committee will be meeting again to revise the rules and present them at a later date.
  • The Recreation Committee is preparing for the Annual Trout Derby on May 5 at Marshall Lake.
  • The Bridge Committee noted that residents are using the condemned CVNP bridges even with the warnings posted. Residents are advised to heed the warnings against the use of the bridges.
  • ACCES committee will hold its next meeting to focus on a number of requests that are pending.
  • The Treasurer’s report noted that the revenue and expenditures are well within the budget established last year for 2011-12.
  • The Website Committee thanked the members for all the hard work and recognized Miriam Lifsics work as the Webmaster.The results of the survey taken as a part of the January billing cycle showed that 57% of the respondents would obtain the GVCA Village News from the website, while 33% preferred to get the newsletter in print and would pick it up at the Clubhouse or other location and 7 % would be willing to pay a subscription to have it mailed to their home.
