BOARD MEETING NOTES JUNE 2013

  • The monthly Board of Trustees meeting was held at the Clubhouse on June 18,2013.
  • Financial Report:Greenwood will be ending the year close to the budget. At the end of May, there were 30 old and 16 new accounts that owe GVCA for semi-annual dues and fines totaling about $60,000. All these have been turned over for collections.
  • ACCES:The ACCES Committee reported on their approval and other actions taken in response to proposed projects by residents. ACCES approved several projects and many more with provisos for additional information, or further actions or work to meet specifications. The committee also designed a new application form and instructions to make it clearer for residents to complete. As a part of the form, the requirements matrix shows what is required for the different projects or where to find more information in the ACCES rules. Both will be posted on the website in the near future but are available in the Clubhouse.
  • Garden Committee:The Garden Committee reported that 15 of the 25 new garden plots have been assigned to new and some returning gardeners who wanted a second plot. Some plots are available to strictly organic gardeners. The committee is proceeding with an evaluation of the present maintenance of garden plots at the end of the season. The criteria in the evaluation will be focused on the efficient use of space, weeding, harvesting, clean up after harvest and consideration of adjacent gardeners.
  • Landscape CommitteeThe Landscape Committee reported on their approvals of contractors to remove storm damaged trees, maintenance of existing landscape areas, and the planting of trees and ornamental grasses donated to Greenwood Village by a resident. The ornamental grasses were planted by a contractor in the Juniper Hill area. The Committee also approved purchase of some trees to replace others damaged or destroyed. Work continues on the removal of Ash trees damaged by the Emerald Ash borer.
  • Board of Trustees ElectionThe Nominating Committee reported on the slate of proposed new trustees who will be voted on at the Annual Meeting on June 24.
  • Website Committee: Website analytics tracked 538 visitors to the GV Website and the pages they looked at during May. High interest is expressed in the number of visitors looking at the housing for sale in Greenwood, the clubhouse and Pool. The Committee asked for and was approved to proceed with the project to migrate the website to WordPress which was already included in the 2013-14 budget. Work will begin in July.
  • Recreation Committee:The Recreation Committee reported on the numbers of new people, children and families attending the many new recreational events, parties, activities that are promoted by the recreation committee. In light of the success of the new programs, the committee asked for and was approved to purchase a projector and screen for indoor and outdoor poolside movies. The equipment would also be available for rental with the Party rooms. The Board approved the purchase of some chairs for the outdoor Pool to replace others that are worn out. With this approval, the seating for outdoor pool patrons is complete.
