Spring is the time when many wild animals have their young, so they are more aggressive and territorial than normal. We don’t have lions, tigers, or bears, but we do have hawks, deer, geese, and coyotes. If you see any wild animal being aggressive, back away slowly and leave the area. If you see any baby wild animals, leave them be, their mother will come back for them.

The middle of February is when coyotes mate, so between then, and when the pups are born in April, is when they are most protective, as in aggressive towards other dogs! Please always keep your dogs leashed, and do not leave either your dogs or cats outside! In a study in Chicago, cats make up 7% of their diet!
