BOARD MEETING NOTES September 2013

  • The monthly Board of Trustees meeting was held in the Clubhouse at 7:00 PM on September 17.
  • Clubhouse Improvements:
    • The outdoor pool is being drained for repairs to the paint.
    • Repairs were made to the trail at the end of Hemlock in Ironwood Trail condominiums.
    • The bridge preservation project is underway.
    • Marshall Lake’s water level will be lowered so that the construction of the retaining wall and a new spillway can be installed.
  • ACCES: The ACCES committee reported that they reviewed and approved 20 applications for a variety of work including new windows, doors, decks, and tree removal. The committee continues to monitor two properties where there are violations of the GV ACCES rules. The ACCES Committee is looking for a volunteer resident to join them. Call the GVCA office if interested.
  • Recreation: The Labor Day “Stay-cation” activities were well attended for the big screen TV football game in the Clubhouse and the movies by the pool. “Tiki” torches ringed Marshall Lake and were placed near other roadways around Greenwood. Many were attracted to the torches and sat around the Lake and in the Pool area for the festivities. About 300 hot dogs and “gummy bears” were served to young and old. Many people who showed up expressed the feeling that these activities were creating a “sense of community’ and enjoyed the facilities. The next party is the Clambake on Friday, October 4. More movies will be scheduled in the near future.
  • Website: Preparations for the migration of the website to WordPress are underway. The Website Committee is also looking for some writers and reporters to work on content for the website. Call the GVCA office if interested.
