BOARD MEETING NOTES August 2013

  • The monthly Board of Trustees meeting was held in the Clubhouse at 7:00pm on August 20, 2013.
  • ALERT: Two residents attended the meeting to call our attention to and alert Greenwood residents about a program titled “Electric Repair Protection”. The program offered by the electric utility promises to repair your outdoor wiring, electric meter, etc for a small monthly fee. However, this program only applies to single family homes not condominiums. If you own a condominium and have been paying this fee, contact Ohio Edison because condo owners are due a refund.
  • Finance: The first month of the new fiscal year shows the disbursements were lower than the budgeted amount. The Board approved an additional amount that was previously planned on to be put into the reserve account to meet the stated targets.
The Board also approved three maintenance projects – the support for the bridge adjacent to Greenwood Parkway, tuck-pointing of the clubhouse, and the planned retaining wall for Marshall Lake. The indoor pool painting has been completed and the pool is being filled and prepared for the indoor pool season.
  • ACCES: The committee reviewed 11 projects for windows, decks, doors, and reported on two problem properties that they are monitoring. Letters were sent to owners using the procedures in the Greenwood regulations.
  • Recreation: The events planned and conducted around the pool and clubhouse have been great successes. Each event has drawn new people and the reviews by attendees are positive. Building a “sense of community” is the driving force behind these events. Labor Day is an opportunity to gather around the pool and clubhouse for activities, food and more movies on the giant screen. The annual Clam Bake will be held on October 4 and forms are in the newsletter and at the clubhouse.
Note:The indoor pool will open AUgust 26 for use during the day and the Outdoor Pool will be open through Labor Day.
  • Landscape: The committee continues to monitor conditions in the public and common areas to remove trees diseased by the Emerald Ash borer and other dead trees that are cause for safety concerns.
  • Website: The number of visitors to the website reached an all time high in June and July. Visitors are very interested in the housing for sale, the pool, FAQ’s, and ACCES rules. Residents selling their housing unit get free advertising on the website and in the newsletter.
  • GARDEN: The gardeners of Greenwood are now reaping the harvest of their labors. Watch this site in the spring for renting a garden plot for 2014.
