If you heard the loud noise but did not get a chance to see, the power company hired a helicopter pilot to trim the Right of Way along the high tension power lines, with 10 big circular saw blades arranged in a row on a big bar hanging from under the helicopter. It trimmed any tree branches poking out of the forest into the Right of Way like a gigantic hedge trimmer. It was very impressive flying, especially with the wind gusts!
