THE TROUT ARE HERE!
Remember, NO OPEN FISHING until Noon Saturday, May 6th!
We got some monster trout this year, and 2 golden trout as well!
The trout were taken by boat and disbursed around the lake, so you should be able to catch trout anywhere around the lake.
- NOTE: We are opening the pool early this year, so the pool area closed. We did not put any trout in that area of the lake.
- Because of the longer walk around the Lake, be sure to bring a bucket so you can put your fish in water before you take it to the judges.
- Remember, no fish is too small to measure. Your fish may be the only one in that category and we don’t want have awards go unclaimed.
- Bring needle nose pliers or fish hook removers. We recommend you not use triple hooks, they harder to remove and injure the fish too much.
- Only the trout and sunfish can be kept, the rest are catch and release. (Or catch, put in water, get judged, and release.)
The Lake was stocked with other types of fish on Tuesday.•We put one of each type of fish, including one baby trout and a hitchhiking crayfish, in an aquarium so you will be able to see them Saturday at the Trout Derby! The Trout Derby happens rain or shine, so please dress appropriately.
